Doyles Creek Underground Coal Project
|
NuCoal owns 100% of the Doyles Creek coal project located in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the Hunter Valley coalfield, near the town of Jerrys Plains and adjacent to several horse studs. For this reason an underground operation is ideally positioned to have minimal impact on this important industry and will demonstrate that coexistence between the Mining and Thoroughbred industries is achieveable. The tenement is located approximately 105km from the port of Newcastle and within 15km of a rail coal loading facility at Wambo. The Doyles Creek tenement is EL 7270 which was granted on 15 December 2008. The tenement has a surface area of approximately 27 square kilometres, overlaying the Wollombi and the Wittingham Coal Measures. The exploration tenement is regarded as relatively large for the region and comparable in size to the long established Wambo Colliery located 10km to the south east operated by Peabody Energy Australia Pty Ltd.
